How to prepare your music for online mixing

All we need are your audio files, not the project session.
    Labelling
Organise and label your audio tracks and file names.
Each audio track has to be labelled with the name of the sound recorded / music instrument on it.
(E.g. Piano, Lead Voice, Acoustic Guitar etc.)

    FX and Plug-ins
Remove all effects and plug-ins. Send your mix dry.
There are cases when this should be done differently. This usually is for tracks you are 100% happy with, like FX or synth tracks where the sound is exactly the one you want to keep in your mix. In this case it is ok to send us the bounce of the tracks processed with all plug-ins or FX on. If the above is applicable to your mix, you should ideally send us an extra folder (DRY COPY) with a copy of all these files completely unprocessed and dry to allow our engineer to decide what is the best thing to do. Please don’t forget to label your files correctly.

    Bouncing the parts
Bounce down (solo and export) each track individually from bar 1 so that all of your files will line up correctly. Be sure you leave your track at the bit rate (usually 24bit or 16bit) they were recorded at. For high compatibility send us your files at 44.100 KHz. The file extension has to be .aif or .wav as they are compatible with any system.
You must bounce all your MIDI and virtual instruments so to have them converted in audio. We can only mix and work on audio files.

It’s important that all tracks you send us are not digitally clipping. Set the volume at 0dB and bounce the track. If the metering is clipping adjust the volume down to the required level. ( in case your audio already contains clips, don't worry, we can use clipping removal software to have your music clip free)
Please before sending the audio file, open them in a new session so to double check that everything is working fine.

    Note:
You cannot combine tracks together. This will make our engineers waste a lot of time and might stop the work if by dividing these tracks your mix ends up being bigger in terms of number of tracks than the one you purchased. Mix size are up to 16, 48, 96, 144 audio tracks per song.

For example, in the intro of a track "A” there is a synth and in the chorus on the same track there is a tambourine. If the track is called ‘percussion’ it can include only percussion sounds: no synth, vocal or sounds that cannot to be treated as percussion.

How to prepare your music for online mastering

All we need to produce a good master of your music is just your stereo audio file of the track. Bounce down (mix down) your music in a stereo file. Be sure you leave your export settings at the bit rate (usually 24bit or 16bit) they were recorded at. For high compatibility send us your files at 44.100 KHz or 96KHz.
The file extension has to be .aif or .wav as they are compatible with all systems.

    Payment

Are there other ways to pay than using Online Payment?
No, at the moment we accept only online payments through PayPal, possibly the most secure online payment system currently available. Please visit PayPal for more information.
You don't need to be registered to pay with PayPal.

    Sending Files

Where should I send my Audio Files?
You can send your files with our online Drop Box or send a CD/DVD by standard post.
If you want to upload your music to our Drop Box, you have to compress the folder containing all the files. Make a .zip file which will be compatible with any computer's operation system. You can send several .zip files but each file cannot be greater than 2GB.
For sending by standard mail, send your Audio Files to our address in London:

    online-mixing.com
    30a Vestry Street,
    London N1 7RE
    United Kingdom

When I send the files, which format should they be in?
For higher compatibility, we work only with 16 and 24 bit files at 44.100 KHz.
The files have to be .WAV or .AIF. Make sure that a file extension is present to each file (e.g. your file is named 'lead-guitar.aif' and not 'lead-guitar'). If you want to upload your music to our Drop Box, you have to compress the folder containing all the files. Make a .zip file which will be compatible with any computer's operation system. You can send several .zip files but each file cannot be greater than 2GB.

What happens if you are not able to open the file?
Keep a copy of whatever you send us, so in case this happens we will be able to show you what went wrong and what to do to fix the problem. Before you send us the files you can check that everything works properly by opening a new session on your music software and importing all the files as we will do when we receive your files: if it works well on your system it will work on ours'.

    Feedback on the finished mix

We have designed a form for you to use to give us feedback. By answering questions and filling in your feedback we will make sure we understand completely what you want to achieve with the mix.

I like the mix but I would like some parts mixed differently, is that possible?
Yes, by using Feedback. This tool enables you to deliver feedback to our engineers.

How can I give feedback on the finished mix to have an engineer make this on the mix?
Use Feedback. This tool enables you to deliver feedback to our engineers.

How many times I can give my feedback on a song?
You can give feedback as many times as you like. Usually, if feedback is required, one feedback sessions are the maximum required for a perfect result.
For each feedback you do you have to go through the feedback procedure (form and payment).
In most cases our clients are happy with the result and don't need any adjustments on the mix.

    Strange cases

In case we receive a song that we believe is a “strange case”, we will contact you to find out more. Before the work is clear and the right payment has been made for the job we won’t proceed with the mixing.

    Example Cases:
    1) Your song is 15 minutes long and sounds like 3 songs put one after the other.
    2) You have made a payment of £95 requiring us to mix a song for you. Your song has more than 48 audio tracks (this means you should have paid £145)
