The Shure Beta 98A is a precision-engineered compact, high-output miniature condenser microphone for professional sound reinforcement and studio recording. An extremely uniform cardioid polar pattern provides excellent gain-before-feedback and off-axis rejection of unwanted noise.

Both Beta 98A configurations feature high sound pressure level capability (SPL). Beta 98AD/C includes A98D drum mount with flexible gooseneck that makes it an essential, accurate choice for toms, snares, and percussion. Beta 98A/C is recommended for a variety of acoustic or amplified instruments including drums, piano, reed, wind, and strings.

This is by no means an authoritative list of online booking tools. In fact, it may be missing a few players in the field. Duncan Freeman, the founder of Band Metrics and Indie Music Tech, published this list over the weekend. It’s a great overview of the many sites available though. I’m left to assume that there’s a demand for these tools and that some artists are finding them useful. Otherwise, a new tool wouldn’t be created every other day.

10 Resources That May Help Artists Book More Gigs:

    1. GigMasters (booking platform for artists and talent buyers)
    2. GigMaven (free and easy-to-use booking website for musicians; currently available in NY, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, DC, Austin, Phoenix and Ohio)
    3. Gigwish (influence venues, promoters and booking agents by enabling an artist’s fans and their local music scene to vote for them)
    4. G2.fm (an online booking community where bands and musicians connect with venues by sharing their music)
    5. Live Music Machine (get booked anywhere for any type of live music event, as well as getting booked directly from MySpace)

Group to perform their cover album at the Tennessee festival

The Flaming Lips have revealed that they are to play their Pink Floyd cover album of ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ at the upcoming Bonnaroo festival.

The group, who released the LP in December, last played the album live at a New Year’s Eve show in their hometown of Oklahoma City.

“We did it at the New Year’s Eve show just knowing everybody’s gonna be taking acid, staying awake until five in the morning,” Wayne Coyne told Spinner. “I don’t think it’ll be that much of a stretch to think Friday night at 2:30 in the morning at Bonnaroo would be that much different than being in Oklahoma City on New Year’s Eve.”

The festival takes place in Manchester, Tennessee between June 10-13, with tickets for the event going on sale on February 9.
